The recent protests, repeated incidents of police brutality and senseless deaths of Black men and women have rendered everyday work increasingly burdensome for faculty and staff of color at HBCUs and HSIs. Coupled with the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on minoritized communities, staff and faculty are overwhelmed and burned out. Each day practitioners are asked to do more with less in an environment of stress and uncertainty. This workshop will explore the impact of first and second-hand trauma and anxiety and provide self-care and wellness strategies to survive during this time of heartache and trepidation.
