Round Rock, TX – Trellis Company, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation and leading provider of financial education and contact center support services today announced that David S. Schwanke, CPA has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, effective March 1, 2022. He will oversee the company’s finance and accounting operations.

D., Trellis’ President and Chief Executive Officer. “I have known and worked with Dave for more than seven years. He brings a remarkable level of financial acumen and integrity to the team. His track record of strong financial management will serve us well as we continue on our path to realizing our vision of connecting people to education-to-employment pathways that transform their lives.”

Most recently, Schwanke served as executive director of the Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority, where he oversaw the agency’s financial operations for 27 years. He is a higher education finance veteran who is well-known and respected across the industry, serving as a board member, and most recently as Board Chair for the Education Finance Council.

“I am excited to work with this team of dedicated professionals to fulfill the Trellis mission to help students realize their educational goals and connect them with meaningful employment” remarked Schwanke. “I am pleased I will be able to continue to associate with many of my colleagues and friends in this important work.”

Prior to UHEAA, Schwanke served as a senior auditor for Deloitte. He holds a bachelors and master’s degree in accounting from Utah State University and is a certified public accountant.
